We all know how an office Secret Santa usually goes. You draw the name of someone from accounting you've spoken to exactly twice. You panic, buy them a generic mug with a mildly funny pun on it, and watch them fake a smile at the holiday party.

It doesn't have to be this way! With a few modern tweaks and the right Secret Santa wishlist app, you can turn a dreaded corporate obligation into a genuinely fun event.

1. Make Participation Strictly Optional

The fastest way to ruin a Secret Santa is to force everyone to participate. Some people are on tight budgets, some don't celebrate the holidays, and some just don't like gift exchanges. Send out an opt-in form, and only draw names among the people who excitedly check "Yes."

2. Set a Firm, Realistic Budget

A budget of ₹500 is common, but often results in cheap gag gifts that end up in the trash. Consider raising the limit slightly to ₹1000, allowing people to buy something of actual quality—like a good book or nice coffee beans. Whatever the limit is, make sure it is strictly enforced so no one feels awkward for over- or under-spending.

3. Mandate the Use of a Wishlist
